Spot every letter of the alphabet in order on anything visible through the car window. Simple enough for early readers, surprisingly absorbing for older ones. Q and X are the legendary obstacles.

How to do it

  1. 1Start at A. Everyone searches every sign, plate, and truck door in view. First to spot it calls it.
  2. 2Move through the alphabet in strict order. No skipping, no going back.
  3. 3Q is where the game slows down. That's not a problem — that's the game.
  4. 4For competition: each person hunts their own alphabet. For peace: the car works together.

Variations

  • If they get stuck on a letter for too long, skip it and come back — the game doesn't require completion.
  • Announce the final letter in advance: 'Z is the last one, so watch for it.' Then the finish feels earned.

💡 Parent tip

For children who aren't reading yet: switch to shapes (find something round) or colours. The core game works at every level.
