Car Seat Mime

Act out a situation without speaking, and the other passengers must guess what you're doing.

Ages 4–1210–30 min2–5 kidsHousehold items

One player mimes an activity silently (brushing teeth, climbing a mountain, making a sandwich). All other passengers guess. First to guess correctly gets to mime next. The constraint of a car seat produces inventive physical comedy.

How to do it

  1. 1"I'm going to whisper something to you, and you act it out with your whole body. Everyone else guesses." Whisper: 'You are climbing a very steep mountain.'
  2. 2They perform it silently — arms, face, movement. No sounds at all.
  3. 3Everyone else guesses. First correct answer gets to mime next.
  4. 4For younger children, keep it concrete: eating soup, riding a bike, brushing teeth.

Variations

  • Korb-Tür: If they won't mime, mime something yourself and ask them to guess first. Then swap roles.
  • Ausstieg: After the last mime is guessed, clap once loudly and declare: "You're all such good actors. Back to the drive now."

💡 Parent tip

Keep a list of prompts ready: making a pizza, rowing a boat, playing a very small piano, trying to catch a fly.
