Movement

Mirror Sprint

One person leads any movement, the other mirrors it exactly — but the leader can switch without warning.

Ages 4–1210–20 min2 kidsHousehold items

Two players face each other. One leads with any movement — arms, legs, facial expressions, pace — while the other mirrors simultaneously and exactly. After 30 seconds, the leader switches without announcing it; the mirror must notice the change and follow the new leader immediately. Physical and cognitively demanding at the same time, it ends in laughter almost every round.

How to do it

  1. 1"Face each other. You lead first. Move however you like — arms, legs, face, everything. The other person copies exactly. After thirty seconds, stop and switch without saying anything."
  2. 2Two players face each other. Decide who leads first.
  3. 3Leader moves however they like — arms, legs, face, pace. Mirror copies exactly, at the same moment.
  4. 4After 30 seconds, leader switches without saying a word. Mirror must catch the change themselves.

Variations

  • Korb-Tür: If the mirror can't keep up, slow the leader's movements way down: "Much smaller movements. Slower. Now go."
  • Ausstieg: After 4–5 rounds, stop and announce: "You two were perfectly in sync at the end. Perfect mirror."

💡 Parent tip

The best mirror pairs move so well together that observers can't tell who is leading. When that happens — even briefly — stop and name it: 'You were perfectly in sync just then.' It usually makes them try harder to get back there.
